About Us

May 1990
Our Humble Beginning

Mr & Mrs Alick Patrick Chute of Labasa and Mr & Mrs George Doonan (Supreme Textiles Pty Ltd) of Brisbane Australia formed a partnership which saw the first of the Value City stores.

Value Village (as it was then known as) opened its doors in the back streets of Labasa in May 1990. The rest as they say, is history.

The popularity of fashionable clothing at reasonable prices proved there was indeed a market waiting to be explored.

This saw the expansion of Value City into the rest of Fiji.

Expansions

Value City has changed how people perceive recycled clothing.

Our first shop in Viti Levu was opened in Gulam Nabi St, Nausori. The popularity & demand for our products was so encouraging that we opened the next shop in Suva.

This of course, was followed by the opening stores in the major towns in Fiji.

Aside from recycled clothing, shoes, handbags & toys, we ventured into bringing in bric-a-brac.
